One Veteran Comments on Changing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"

One veteran says the military is "full of so much testosterone" he expects a "big fuss" if gays are allowed to serve openly.

Zach Choate of Georgia says he has known gay soldiers, and that it was never an issue for him or other members of his unit.

The Army's official Facebook site has been swamped with hundreds of comments, pro and con, since the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff told Congress Tuesday that it was wrong to require gays to "lie about who they are" to defend their country.

Another veteran says allowing gays to serve openly would undermine the close bond soldiers need to have, in order to fight effectively as a unit.

Leo Dunson of Las Vegas says, "I can definitely speak for the infantry and say they're not going to be cool with it."
