Firefighters were busy Thursday night working to put out a house fire west of Broadway.

Crews were dispatched just before 8 p.m. to the 17000 block of Runions Creek Road in Rockingham County.

Firefighters say the older couple who owns the house was not home when the fire started.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but Broadway Fire Capt. Pat Trimble says he suspects the chimney.

No one was injured.
