Goodlatte's Town Hall meeting drew a large crowd of farmers from around The Valley. The debate over immigration laws was a hot topic at the meeting. Goodlatte also discussed recent cuts being made to the agriculture industry and how those cuts will affect farmers.

While writing the new farm bill, Goodlatte says most people he speaks with want a forward thinking bill, addressing issues here in The Valley like energy conservation. "I'd like to take the word waste out of agriculture, it would be a big help here in the valley if we could use more of the wood waste and animal waste and so on that's produced in the area to create more energy."

Congressman Goodlatte held another Town Hall meeting Saturday afternoon in Woodstock, and he will also make an appearance in Stanton Monday night.
