In anticipation of Tuesday's snow, crews are gearing up for extended shifts around the clock, in order to keep the roads clear.

City officials say funding is starting to run low, and it may be time to start dipping into alternate funds, such as pavement projects scheduled for the Summer and Fall.

Despite this, council members say they are pleased with how public works crews have handled some of the worst winter storms in decades.

Council member Lorie Smith says, "Our guys that are driving the plows and the salt trucks are going to hang in there with us, I have no reason to believe otherwise. They've been very committed and dedicated to their work, trying to provide safe streets for passage...even in our residential areas as well."

Council members have asked public works for a thorough analysis of their efforts so far, including overtime and equipment usage.
