Rockingham County filed, with the State Department of
Emergency Management, a declaration for a state of emergency for damage to property due to the recent snow event. In conversation with
representatives of the agriculture industry, there have been 7 to 10
poultry houses that have sustained damage due to roof damage. The
County is collecting information regarding the cost of such damage.
With a forecast of an additional 8 inches of snow this evening, coupled
with 20 to 25 mph winds Wednesday, the potential for additional loss has increased.
