A Pennsylvania man is accused of driving drunk and causing a head-on collision near Morgantown that killed five people, including three children.
Court officials say 32-year-old Brian John Stone, of Gans, is jailed on five counts of DUI causing death and one count of third or subsequent offense DUI. A spokeswoman for Monongalia County Magistrate Court says his bond was set at $1.35 million.
Seven other people were taken to local hospitals after the three-car accident Sunday night on Interstate 68 east of Morgantown. Three of the injured are in critical condition.
The names of the dead and injured are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
According to The Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Stone is awaiting trial for DUI in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, following a March arrest.
