A tour is planned for the Virginia Heritage Migration Route.

The route traveled by Native Americans and pioneer settlers in the late 1700s, aims to preserves the culture and history of western Virginia.

The trail highlights historic buildings, homes and crafts.

Zenaida Hall, project coordinator for the Rockingham Tour, says, "It allows our visitors and our communities to see the pioneer life that is still evident in a lot of our communities throughout the Valley. So it's a wonderful way to see through history. To enjoy natural beauty."

The tour will begin July 20.
