Loudoun County supervisors will restrict illegal immigrants' access to county services.
The nine-member Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on Tuesday for the resolution, sponsored by the board's six Republican members. It is similar to one that Prince William County passed a week ago.
Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio says Loudoun County must do something to discourage illegal immigrants from settling in the area. He says they're draining county resources and leading to an increase in crime.
The Loudoun measure did not specify which services would be denied to illegal immigrants.
Loudoun supervisors asked the county sheriff's office to work more closely with federal authorities to quickly deport criminals who are in the country illegally.
Immigrant rights advocates say restricting services will lead to discrimination.
