A building that had already burned in a fire this year has now been burglarized, too. A home on Bayard Road was gutted in a fire last month, and Waynesboro police say someone broke into the home earlier this week and stole some tools that the owner was using for demolition work.

Waynesboro Police are also investigating a pair of burglaries on the same street this week. They say a flat-screen TV was stolen from a home on Port Republic Road Monday, and a laptop was stolen Tuesday from a home just down the street.

Two women have been arrested in Rockingham County after deputies say they tried to steal $370 of groceries from Wal-Mart Saturday afternoon. Candice Hamblin and Emily Reese are both charged with grand larceny.

Harrisonburg police say three places were tagged with gang graffiti over the weekend. Graffiti was found on a door at the Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community Sunday, and at three apartment buildings on Vine Street. Then on Monday, graffiti was found on the outside of Roses department store.

The Swoope Volunteer Fire Company reports that someone stole some equipment and antique gear from the attic last month. The stolen items are worth nearly $1,600.

Staunton police have accused a man of animal cruelty. Police say they found Carlin Rochea Adams' dog with no food or water and surrounded by feces on National Avenue Tuesday.

If you have any information about these cases, call your local police department or sheriff's office.
