NBA star Allen Iverson is offering some words of advice to beleaguered NFL player Michael Vick. Iverson said Saturday that Vick should "keep his head up."

He spoke at halftime during a celebrity flag-football game he hosted as part of his Allen Iverson Summer Classic Weekend.

The Denver Nuggets guard says he hasn't been surprised by the criticism leveled at Vick, a fellow Virginia native who faces charges of sponsoring a brutal dog fighting ring.

Iverson, who has been involved in a handful of high-profile cases, says athletes get more attention than other people.

He says "There was always a bullseye on us. Everybody doesn't love athletes. Some people feel like we're spoiled."

He says that's not true and says Vick, whom he doesn't know personally, just needs to reassess his friends.

Iverson says, "He knows that all of us are rooting for him."

If this was so unknown person, You would have never heard anything about this so called dog fight, unless you saw it in the newspaper. Do they have anything on him or it just hear say? It's his house yes, but that doesn't mean he had anything to do with this. This man is a celebrity. He don't even live at this house and they know this. So why even try to bring him down? These people are haters, want to see him go down for any reason. Leave the man alone; play ball is what I say. As far as what the owner said about him, if it was me I would demand a trade. Keep your head up Vick. You still got one fan, hear. Holla at your Boy. Dblock

Unfortunately we have a double standard in this country; if you have money and are well known, most laws do not apply to you. It's past time to make that change. A friend used to say about the relationship I had with my dog, "it's only a dog" and believe me, he is no longer a friend either! If you disrespect animals, what must you think of people?
