A dozen tracts in Kanawha, Boone, Raleigh and Summers counties have been offered as potential sites for a state mine rescue and training center.
The state solicited offers last month for 50 acres of unimproved land.
Department of Administration spokeswoman Diane Holly-Brown says the owners of 12 tracts responded to the state's request.
Holly-Brown says a team of representatives from the Real Estate Division and the Office of Miners' Health Safety and Training will review the sites.
There's no firm timeline for the project.
