Three more overnight business break-ins in Staunton have some other small businesses in the area concerned about their security.

Staunton police say those three break-ins occurred on Richmond Road at Vess Equipment, Spectrum Communications and Rich Dry Cleaners.

Those business owners say intruders got inside by prying open either a side or back door, and left with cash.

This comes after one dozen small business break-ins across the southern portion of the Valley last weekend.

While some small business owners say they're not concerned, some say they've been working on new security measures because they'd rather pay for security now than a break-in later.

"Two weeks ago we had a loss prevention week, and we've talked about putting up security cameras just for people just to walk in, and just in the broad daylight or check frauds or anything like that. Now it's a good thing we're doing that. And in the parking lot, putting in new light bulbs and lighting things up since all of these little break-ins and stuff like that, which is really scary," says Gerri Robinson at the Hair Cuttery.

Two of the Staunton businesses that were targeted last weekend but weren't actually broken into say they've taken extra security measures, especially at the back doors, as a preventative measure.
