One Valley community calls itself the "sweetest place to live." On Saturday, local businesses took the opportunity to prove it.
It was the first ever "Sweet Dreams Day" in Stuarts Draft. There were demonstrations by police dogs and fire companies, plus more than 50 craft and local business displays. Organizers say it was a day to celebrate the community.
Stuarts Draft Postmaster Kevin Blackford noted, "Basically what we're hoping to do is just bring some recognition to the community of Stuarts Draft, let the people see what a great community it is, what good people it has, and what it has to offer."
The town's post office co-sponsored the event. Other sponsors included the Stuarts Draft Ruritans, Hershey Chocolate, and Augusta County Parks and Recreation.
