A local woman accused of first-degree murder made her first appearance in court Monday.
Mary Pryor was in Augusta County District Court for an advisement hearing Monday morning.
She and her husband, Gary, are accused of suffocating 44-year-old Lisa Hostetter Johnson, then dumping her body along a road in Augusta County.
Police brought Mary Pryor back to Virginia last week after she and her husband were found in Michigan. Gary Pryor had already returned to the Valley, but Mary had to stay in Michigan while she recovered from what police called a suicide attempt.
On Monday, Mary was told she'll receive court-appointed counsel. She currently has no attorney, because the public defender's office is representing her husband.
A bond hearing will be scheduled after she gets an attorney.
