A Frederick County judge has set a November trial date for a teenager charged with stabbing to death a man during a botched robbery.
The judge set Nov. 21 for the trial of Matthew VanEmburgh, who was 15 in March when Terry Presgraves was murdered just a few days after getting married.
Prosecutors say VanEmburgh used his student ID to open a locked door at Presgraves' home. Investigators say Presgraves confronted VanEmburgh during the apparent robbery attempt and was stabbed more than 30 times with a knife from his own kitchen.
Presgraves' wife, Candace, was also stabbed a number of times but survived.
VanEmburgh's attorneys want the trial date moved back so they'll have more time to prepare.
