The Harrisonburg City Council is making a difference for some families whose members are off fighting the war on terror.
After a presentation by the VFW the city decided to waive water, sewer and refuse fees for the families of national guardsmen and reservist who have been activated and deployed.
VFW members say they want to try to help the families in these difficult times. "It’s excellent very good, it’s a little bit that will help them maybe we can't do everything but we will do what we can," says Ray Maclennan public relations officer for VFW post 632.
This will affect 20 families.
