Hundreds of Staunton residents lost power after an old tree came down on some power lines. It happened just before 11am Saturday morning at the corner of West Frederick and Fillmore Streets, right in front of the Stuart Hall School. Part of the tree also came down on a car parked on the sidewalk.

One resident describes what he saw. "There was a loud explosion. And there was fire everywhere and about 3 minutes later there was another loud explosion with the wires. And, thank goodness no one was underneath walking, they would have been hit," says Frank Fravel.

There were no injuries.
