Rockingham County Fair

Everyone was revved up Monday night for the opening of the Rockingham County Fair. Fans caught some exciting motocross action from the grandstands.

Riders in ATVs and dirt bikes raced for trophies. Riders ranged from ages 4 to 40.

"I think the most exciting part of the race is the start," said Stacey Redifer, a professional motocross rider. "The adrenaline rush you feel going into the first turn with a group of riders, and then hitting the jumps is a lot of fun."

Tuesday night, the grandstand will be hosting bull riding starting at 8:00 p.m. The fair also got off to a bang Monday night with a fireworks display.

The fair runs through Sunday, and tickets are $5 for adults, $2 for kids seven to 12, and free for children 6 and under.
