Even though the weather may be a little hot for some senior citizens to be out and about, they took advantage of Older Adult Day at the Rockingham County Fair on Thursday.

Rockingham Memorial Hospital had a station set up for seniors to get free screenings for their cholesterol, blood sugar, and bone density. While RMH still recommends that older people should regularly see their doctor, these screenings have helped point out some health concerns some residents didn't know they had.

"I think that it's important for people to somewhere or another be checked for all this stuff. I mean really because stuff can slip up on you when you're not aware of it," says Ray Wampler, who came in to get his cholesterol checked.

If you missed Thursday's screenings, RMH will continue to do them on Friday and Saturday.
