China Reacts to Decision on 2000 Gymnastic Medal

The Chinese Gymnastics Association says it's "pained" by a ruling that strips its women's team of a bronze medal from the 2000 Sydney Olympics for using an underage athlete.

However, the group says it respects the International Olympic Committee's decision.

The International Gymnastics Federation found that one gymnast was only 14, even though gymnasts must be 16 or turn 16 during the Olympic year to be eligible.

The official Chinese news agency says the Chinese association will make administrative changes to make sure it doesn't happen again.

The bronze medal now goes to the U.S. team.
