Our Community Place Hosts Dinner Fundraiser

People were heading to Our Community Place in Harrisonburg Saturday evening for the "A Night Out" fundraiser.

This is the sixth time the organization has held a more formal dinner fundraiser.

The group is donating 25-percent of its proceeds to Haiti relief efforts.

While those attending the dinner enjoyed an evening out, those coordinating and working the event had a great time as well.

"Everytime we do it, it's super fun. A lot of these folks are unemployed, a lot have a tough time keeping a job. A lot of folks, it's the first time they've done something with another group of people that was successful, and at the end of the night they're like, "Woohoo!" You know, it's just a great feeling," says Ron Copeland, director of Our Community Place.

Our Community Place raised about $1,400 Saturday night. About 70 people attended the dinner.
