Delegate Steve Landes is throwing his support behind two bond referendums that will be on this November's ballot.
Tuesday, he spoke to community leaders on the issues.
The first would allow Virginia's public colleges, universities and museums to tap into $900 million that have been set aside.
JMU would receive $100 million.
The second would allow local governments to hand over control of natural chimneys and grand caverns regional parks to the state.
Landes says these are projects that have been on the books for a long time and have already been planned for, so they don't have to go back and reinvent the wheel. They can be started next year.
Landes says taxes would not be increased, but the state economy would receive a boost.
The bond referendums are separate.
You can vote yes for one and no for the other.
