Staunton Police have arrested another man for his alleged role in an attempted murder last month.
On Wednesday, police nabbed 26-year-old Duane Carey Washington of Charlottesville.
He's the latest person charged after a July 7 incident on the 800 block of Trout Street.
According to police, several individuals returned to the block after an altercation, and began shooting at 25-year-old Lloyd Matthews, who was in his yard.
In late July, Staunton police arrested 19-year-old Rashod Deon Grooms and 28-year-old Elvira Janet Oliver, both of Waynesboro, and charged them with attempted murder.
Thirty-two-year-old Arlene Oliver, 21-year-old Christi Allen, and 22-year-old Denise Brown, all of Staunton, were also arrested and charged with obstructing justice.
On Aug. 10, Staunton police issued warrants for three individuals: Washington; Howard Deshawn Ewell, 21, Charlottesville; and Joniel R. Edwards, Charlottesville.
The other two are already in custody. They've also been charged with attempted murder. Ewell also faces charges of possessing a firearm after being convicted of a felony, and using a firearm in commission of a felony.
