Construction of a new Valley school is slightly behind schedule, but it's still expected to be ready for next year's first day of school.
Wilson Middle School in Fishersville is starting to take shape. Chuck Bishop, administrative assistant for Augusta County Schools, says utility work on the building is done, and masonry work is ongoing.
Bishop says a combination of rain, and the discovery of asbestos at the site last spring, has set the project about two weeks behind the target completion date of August 1, 2005.
But Bishop says the school is still on pace to be finished in time for the start of the 2005-2006 school year.
