Two Staunton men arrested for their alleged roles in Friday night's shooting made their initial appearance in court Monday afternoon.
Twenty-one-year-old Andre Jamal Coe faces four charges, including first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.
Jamar Travis Ellery, also 21, faces a pair of accessory charges.
Both are being held without bond. During Monday's appearance in Staunton District Court, it was revealed Coe will be represented by a public defender, while Ellery plans to hire his own attorney.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 2 p.m. on October 20.
Coe and Ellery were arrested Friday night, after an incident in the parking lot of Elizabeth Miller Gardens. Police say gunshots were fired after an argument over money.
According to a Staunton Police news release, 28-year-old Dennis Mickens, Waynesboro, was killed, and Ledonna Mawyer, 22, Staunton, was injured.
A third victim, Mickens' twin brother David, Waynesboro, was uninjured.
