A Dayton man already behind bars for two counts of attempted murder is facing three additional charges Monday, after stabbing a mother and daughter Saturday night.
Eighteen-year-old Brian Lee Thompson is now charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of malicious wounding and one count of attempted malicious wounding.
Eighteen-year-old Patty Cash says she's still shocked after she and her mother were stabbed by her Thompson, who is her ex-boyfriend, Saturday.
"You're stunned and you're stopped like, I didn't know this could happen, why is this happening," asks Cash.
Cash says it all began when Thompson called her, wanting to see her. She realized he had been drinking.
"When I told him no, he said, 'Well, I'm too close to stop now.' And I said, 'No don't come here,' I cut my phone off, and so he couldn't call me anymore. And so doors were locked, the lights were off," says Cash.
Cash is nine-weeks-pregnant with Thompson's child and says he showed up saying he wants to be a part of the baby's life.
That's when she says she smelled the alcohol on his breath and leaned over the trash can feeling nauseous.
"He grabbed the knife out of my mom's dish drainer, where she washed dishes earlier, and just cut my throat with it. And somehow we ended up on the floor, and I was trying to grab it out of his hand," says Cash.
Cash says this isn't the first violent act she's experienced with Thompson. She says he broke her arm just one month ago.
"He's told me before, he was like, 'If you leave me, I'll find you and I'll burn your mom's house down and your grandma's,'" describes Cash.
Rockingham County deputies arrested Thompson at the residence on Fox Den Road, after he had been subdued by a family friend.
"The wounds were such that it warranted the charges that were placed against Mr. Thompson," says Sgt. Felicia Glick, Public Information Officer with the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office.
Cash says she hopes Thompson gets what he deserves.
"Because he doesn't deserve to hurt anybody like that. And I know, with past girlfriends, they've actually admitted that he's hurt them, too," says Cash.
Cash was treated and released from Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
Her mother, 38-year-old Donna Beasley, is still there in stable condition.
Cash says her mom was stabbed eight times, with one wound being just an inch away from her spine.

I hung out with Patty since as far as i can remember. Her mom and my dad is friends.I cant believe someone would want to hurt such a sweet girl like Patty and her mom.I know them both real well and neither of them deserved that to happen to them.I am sorry for what happen to Patty and her mom..Its good to know now my friend is okay and so is her mom..A dirt bag like that needs all the time he can get and never be let out. That was just a childish move he did.
I hung out with Brian along time ago and I would have never thought he would do something like this! I was in a complete shock when I read the first story.
This is going to be a lawyer dream case. Mommy and Daddy will have to borrow the money on their home to pay for this. The lawyer in court will put it as a mistake done by someone who is only 18 and didn't realize what he was doing. His thinking was distorted by alcohol is what the jury will hear. Then the lawyer will push onto the jury the tear jerking moves to soften their hearts. When it is all over and done with, a heavy fine (that goes to the State) and probation. Goodbye Daddy and Mommy home the lawyer and State took it over. Patty and her Mom will have the scars to live with and the knowing that he was found guilty. I hope it doesn't wind up like I wrote it. But seen too many things what lawyers can do for injustice to prevail. I raised my children up with, you get yourself in trouble, you get yourself out. And my children knew I meant it. My 2 sons got themselves in minor trouble and paid all their expenses. Never again did they ever get themselves in trouble again.
