A local newspaper columnist who working on her "bucket list" spent Wednesday as a WHSV News 3 reporter.

Heather Bowser has worked on her 30 goals for the past nine months.

The list includes things like cutting down a tree, killing something and eating it, flying a plane, and driving every street in Harrisonburg.

She says the entire experience is a great way to try new things.

"It takes the work and it takes the money to stretch you and to do, to figure out what you can accomplish in your life. And that's so cool to be like I can do it! I tried and I didn't die and it was hard and it was scary, but I made it and I'm a better person for it," says Bowser.

Bowser has ten more adventures to complete before her 30th birthday, which is in 90 days.

If i'm not mistaken, this wasn't supposed to be news. There are plenty of human interest stories in the paper and on television. We're following the journey of a "person" who happens to be media. What's really wrong with that? Please enlighten me!!! It seems to have inspired people to go after their dearms.

Way to go, Heather! I love the column, and I'm keeping up with the BBL all the way out in Colorado. You should be proud of everything you have accomplished!

One of Heather's to do "Bucket Lists" things is to kiss the cow at the Rockingham County Fair, August 19 to benefit the American Cancer Society. If Heather doesn't kiss the cow, she might kick the "Bucket".

WHSV Poll
A committee in the House of Delegates has sent a bill to the House floor that would allow private, faith-based adoption agencies to discriminate against prospective parents based on their sexual orientation. Would you support this?

Yes, I think if it is a private organization it's okay.
No, there should be no discrimination.
It should depend on a case by case basis.
