June is Adopt-A-Senior Month!

WAYNESBORO,Va. (WHSV)-- They once use to live in a house full filth, but now they're doing better and you may be able to adopt one of them for free.

Nine dachshund dogs that were taken out of a Waynesboro home where they were neglected are still up for adoption. Four out of those nine are seniors meaning that their $150 is waived.

Dachshund Rescue of North America is handling the adoption process and says that the dogs are in much better shape.

"To get the vetting done, to get the surgeries done, to put the ones on diets who need to be on diets, to get the ones socialized and need to be socialized, they just come to life, they just keep coming to life, more and more, and they're getting ready very soon to go to their forever homes, we just need the adopters.", said Krista Welder, of Dachshund Rescue of North America.

To adopt one of these dachshunds, contact Krista Welder with Dachshund Rescue of North America at (540) 487-3666, or visit the Dachshund Rescue Website on the sidebar of this story.
