WEYERS CAVE, Va. (WHSV) -- Airports nationwide are on guard following the Department of Homeland Security's alert about explosives hidden in shoes.

The Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport is keeping tight lipped about security.

"We can't really discuss any details or any directives we receive, but the one thing we can encourage passengers to do is always before they travel, we encourage them to go online and check TSA.gov to see if there are any changes in the process that they anticipate the next time that they travel," said Greg Campbell, the executive director at SHD.

Campbell said being aware of security procedures can help passengers pack and dress accordingly.
