"America's Most Wanted" to Feature Harrington Case

APPOMATTOX, Va. – On the eve of the third anniversary of Morgan Harrington’s disappearance, her case will be featured on the cable network television show, “America’s Most Wanted.” The segment will air at 10 p.m. Friday (October 12, 2012) on Lifetime.

Harrington disappeared Oct. 17, 2009, during a Metallica concert on the grounds of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. The remains of the 20-year-old Virginia Tech student were later discovered Jan. 26, 2010, in a field on an Albemarle County farm.

Later in 2010, the Harrington case was forensically linked to the attacker in a 2005 abduction and sexual assault of a young woman in Fairfax City. The Fairfax City victim was able to provide enough of
a description of her attacker for a composite sketch of the man.

The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Appomattox Field Office, with the assistance of University of Virginia Police, Albemarle County Police, Charlottesville Police, Fairfax City Police, FBI and the Albemarle County Commonwealth’s Attorney, is still actively pursuing the investigation into Harrington’s disappearance and death.

Those with information about the suspect sketch may contact City of Fairfax Police Detective Mike Boone at (703) 385-7959.

Anyone wishing to provide information in the Morgan Harrington case is encouraged to call the Jefferson Area Crime Stoppers at (434) 977-4000 or Virginia State Police at (434) 352-3467 or email State Police at bci-appomattox@vsp.virginia.gov.

A reward of $150,041 is still available for anyone with information that leads to a resolution of the Harrington crime. Additional information is available on the FBI Website at: http://www.fbi.gov/news/
