HARRISONBURG -- The 2013 Best of Virginia awards are honoring a number of local businesses. Five of them won first place, and four took second and third in various categories.

The Best of Virginia awards are voted by subscribers of the Virginia Living publication. Venues such as Artful Dodger, Clementine Cafe and Local Chop have won multiple years.

This year, several establishments took first place for the first time, including Foilz Salon and Little Grill Collective. Their managers are excited about their win and say they're thankful for their customers.

Leah Shiflett, manager of Foilz Salon, says, "We just want to thank all of our clients for voting for us this year and hope to see you in the next year."

"It's real exciting to be recognized, to be serving vegetarian food here in the valley so thank you everybody," said Ashley Hunter, the manager of Little Grill Collective.

Barnes and Noble and Books a Million will have copies of Virginia Living available May 10th.
