Nelson County, VA Investigators with the Nelson County Sheriff's Office say they have made contact with an out-of-state "person of interest" in the Alexis Murphy case.

Sheriff David Brooks says it was a "normal lead" they were following up.

Brooks describes the male as "a person of interest we had been wanting to talk to in the course of normal investigation".

Murphy was last seen August 3 at the Liberty gas station in Lovingston.

Randy Allen Taylor is behind bars, charged with abduction in the case.
