HARRISONBURG, Va.--The Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival kicked off its 21st series with a concert on Sunday at Eastern Mennonite University.
Artists from across the country perform in the festival.
Bach Festival board member Ed Comer said he is pleased with the number of people who attended the first concert. However, he hopes for larger numbers at other concerts.
"The crowd is nice. I would like to have liked to have the auditorium packed full. We hope to get that Friday and Saturday night. That we will have people turned away. We would love to pack the auditorium," said Comer.
According to Comer, the event comes together thanks to the community support.
The main concerts will be on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Lehman Auditorium at EMU. Free concerts will be held all weeklong at Asbury Methodist Church from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
