Bank Robbery Suspect is On The Loose

WEYERS CAVE, Va. (WHSV)-- The above gallery are still images taken from the security cameras in the bank. The suspect was last seen wearing khaki shorts, and a gray hoodie.

The call came in before 3 p.m. on Jul.29 that Carter Trust and Bank on Franklin Street had been robbed. This is the second robbery taking place on this street within the past year.

According to deputies, he man implied he had a weapon.

"You work hard and its really just a shame that people come in and do what they do for whatever reason, whether it is hard luck or whatever, or drugs. I really don't see any right in it," said Jeff Miller, who lives near the bank.

When the alleged robber asked the bankers for money, about five employees were in the building when it happened.

The man left the building on foot. Local neighbors say it hits home when it's in their backyards.

This is still an active investigation at this time, and WHSV is hard at work to bring you the latest information.
