BRIDGEWATER, Va.---The Bridgewater Town Council voted against increasing its cigarette tax on Tuesday.

The tax would remain 10 cents per pack. Before the vote, the tax was expected to jump to 20 cents per pack by the end of June.

The finance committee implemented the 10-cent-tax in 2012 to balance its budget. However, the committee said its made enough money so no change is needed.
