Neighbors in the city of Broadway now have a new place to educate the city's youngest residents.

It's thanks to a Born Learning Trail that JMU's Student United Way installed Saturday.

Members of the group aren't strangers to installing the trails. They did one in Elkton last year and it was a huge boost to the community.

Broadway's Heritage Park opened recently, so, the group wanted to give parents there a way to educate their young children on how to interact with the world around them. They installed signs for ten interactive stations.

"There's one that asks the child to touch a tree or a flower and describe them," said United Way's student intern Grace Corapi. "They get to imagine something. Something that they get to be doing that they might not do everyday or might not realize they're doing everyday. Just something to get them outside and getting excited about learning."

The Born Learning trails cost over $1500 to install. The group raised that money thanks to Valley sponsors.
