Harrisonburg Police are investigating what caused a Harrisonburg City Transit Bus to crash Monday night on the campus of James Madison University.

Shortly after 8 p.m., the bus crashed through a bus shelter on Bluestone Drive, near Sonner Hall.

The bus kept going after hitting the shelter, knocking down a tree and light post before coming to a stop in a grassy area.

Police tell WHSV that the driver and a passenger were taken to Rockingham Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

There were no reports of any serious injuries for those on the bus at the time of the crash or nearby pedestrians.

Police are still investigating what caused that bus to crash.
