HARRISONBURG -- A promotion at AT&T is quite patriotic this holiday week. The company is collecting old cell phones to raise money to send soldiers calling cards.
Richard Grevious works at the AT&T in Harrisonburg. They have gotten a bunch donations over the past few days.
He says to separate the battery and place the phones in a marked bag.
He then puts them in the bin and they are off to be refurbished. The money the company makes will go towards calling cards for soldiers.
Grevious knows how important this is first hand.
"it is simple, it's simple, and its a great cause. I served in the military as well so anytime we can pitch in it makes me feel great," says Grevious.
He says the promotion is going on indefinitely. You can have any cell service provider. It doesn't have to be a phone from AT&T. All cell phones are welcome.
