HARRISONBURG, Va -- Smart Beginnings Shenandoah Valley received a grant of $75,000 from the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation.

The check presentation included some of the coalition executives, business leaders and community partners that all make Smart Beginnings possible.

This non profit organization is able to impact the lives of thousands of children in the Shenandoah Valley and their main support is the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation.

"It really is our lifeline, in terms of being able to operate and to move forward. We're so lucky to have their support and it's really enabled us to be able to mobilize some many aspects of our community in order to support young children," said Alysia Davis, coordinator Of Smart Beginnings.

Smart Beginnings focuses on parent education, increasing the quality of programs in preschools and making the kindergarten transition as successful as possible.
