City Council Meeting Begins With Tribute

Tonight's City Council meeting in Waynesboro began with a moment of silence in honor of fallen reserve police officer Kevin Quick.

This comes the day after state police announced they arrested 22 year-old Anthony L. White in connection with quick's death.

Today prosecutors dropped murder charges of principal in the second degree to three others arrested in the case.

"Those charges were brought to probably put those three individuals in custody, then the most substantial charges came down of gang participation, those are charges that are going to keep them incarcerated and keep them from communicating with each other and most importantly keep people safe as the investigation goes on," said Waynesboro Police Sergeant Brian Edwards.

So far, there are six people being held in custody in connection with quick's death.

Investigators are still encouraging anyone with information to contact Virginia State Police at 1-877-482-8477.
