STAUNTON -- Steven Rosenberg will be the new assistant city manager for the City of Staunton. The former assistant manager left for another position in Virginia last July.

Steve Owen, the city manager, said Rosenberg has experience working at the city and county level. He's also worked with the University of Virginia.

Owen said Rosenberg worked on projects that will help him in the position.

“He just brings a wealth of knowledge, also, a wealth of knowledge about the community. He's lived in the community for some years now, and he will not have as much of a learning curve to learn who the main players are,” he said.

The city postponed the search for Rosenberg because of restructuring and funding.

Rosenberg's first day is scheduled for May 1st.
