The Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance is holding its 8th Annual Court & Market Days Festival, and for the first time, it will have a special addition - the "Civil War 150 HistoryMobile."
The 18-wheeler "Museum on Wheels" was created to celebrate the Civil War Sesquicentennial, and has been all across the state of Virginia.
Trisha Blosser, the program manager of Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance, said the mobile, which is wheelchair accessible, is filled with different exhibits and ways to interact.
"The stories it tells, for example, it has a letter from a mortally-wounded Confederate soldier writing home to his son, so it gives that very personal perspective on the very violent and bloody battlefield," she said.
The mobile will be around the Turner Pavillion area June 1 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on June 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
