ROCKINGHAM COUNTY -- One of the city's landmarks on Grace Street is in the final stages of demolition. The Rockingham Co-op, now owned by James Madison University, has been completely knocked down.
Plans for the site haven't been finalized yet. It was determined it would cost too much money to renovate the building.
People with JMU say they would like something to go there that connects the campus.
Right now, the main part of campus and the Memorial Hall area are separated. An arts quad and administration quad is planned for the area just east of the old co-op. That's according to JMU's master plan.
