You or someone you know is likely battling some sort of a cold right now.

Dr. Robert J. Fern with the Valley Pediatric Group believes it is the common cold that many people are experiencing. That's because the allergy season is coming to an end.

Dr. Fern said it is one of the many viruses he is seeing in our area right now.

"(It) shows up among people of all ages with congestion, runny nose, some coughing or sneezing and sometimes some watery eyes," said Dr. Fern.

He encourages people to stay home if they have a fever or are not feeling well. He said cold viruses spread easily, especially in school systems, so children have to be careful.
