HARRISONBURG -- There is updated information in a brutal rape case.

Commonwealth's Attorney Marsha Garst filed DNA evidence that could link the two suspects to the crime.

Garst also requested to move one of the suspects from a juvenile detention center to an adult jail. According to court files, that suspect has been a threat to other juvenile inmates. That suspect, who deputies said has been disorderly, has a hearing in court Friday morning.

A judge ruled the allegations against the two teens involved are so severe, the suspects are being tried as adults.

Police said the rape happened in October in an apartment complex off Port Republic Road. They said the two 16-year-old boys threatened a 20-year-old woman with a knife, brutally raped her and then robbed her in her apartment.

We are not releasing the suspects names because they are under the age of 18.
