HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- For the first time, the family of the couple involved in the deadly store robbery at Dry River store in Rockingham County is talking about Jae and Eun Kim publicly.
The church was filled with community members and family member coming together to celebrate Eun Kim's life.
As the choir sang and the priest spoke, the community remembered Eun Kim's life and her smile.
"The very last thing that she said to Paul on Friday is that she is so happy with her life right now," said Reverend Joe Goldsmith, with Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
"Her smile, every time you walked in, she had a smile. They never had a bad day it seemed," said Tara Keagy, who is coordinating a fundraiser for the Kim family.
Paul Kim wanted to share memories about his mom, but he asked that we protect his identity until the suspect is found.
"My mom is an angel like I said. She was a sweet lady that always worked hard for everyone, and she would not let no helpless person left behind," said Paul Kim, Eun and Jae Kim's son.
"Really, really thankful that I was part of her life and you know she let me be her son," said Kim.
Kim is overwhelmed by the community support, from the vigil to the fundraising.
"Words cannot describe how thankful I am for all the support, all the donations," said Kim.
Money that will go toward funeral costs and toward helping Jae Kim recover.
"And we'll pray for my dad's recovery so you know, so he can come back to the community and say hello, you know, what he loved to do," said Kim.
As neighbors hope for Jae Kim's recovery, the community will continue to stand behind the Kims.
"All the prayers they've given to my dad and I really appreciate everyone's help you guys are family to me, and you always will be. God bless everyone," said Kim.
