HARRISONBURG, Va.-- More than 100 dollars came in this weekend, for the Harrisonburg-Rockingham County Relay for Life Organization.
More than a dozen people gathered at 24/7 Family Fitness to zumba and raise money.
Leaders with the James Madison University relay team said events go on through August, not just one night.
So far, 182 teams around the area have raised more than 190,000 dollars for the organization. The hope is to raise 220,000 dollars before August.
Melissa Shank is a fitness instructors for 24/7 Family Fitness. She said, they love that their passion can make a big difference in the community.
"I think if you love what you do, it translates into energy for everybody else around you. That makes them want to get involved as well," said Shank.
