Computer Scam May Cost You Hundreds

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- A Harrisonburg man said he almost lost hundreds of dollars when his computer froze up.

It's a problem that has affected a lot of people.

Fortunately, Robert Johnson was smart enough to recognize the red flags when this graphic popped up on his monitor last week.

"My first reaction was, 'Oh, my God, what is this?' Then, a big flag went up. As I scrolled down through and saw if I paid $300, they wouldn't press charges and unlock my computer.
