HARRISONBURG, Va. -- We are in the third day of a partial federal government shutdown and Republicans and Democrats are playing the blame game.

We talked to Congressman Bob Goodlatte to understand what's behind the shutdown.

"The unwillingness of the Senate, particularly the Senate Majority leader Harry Reid to come to the table and negotiate, means that this shutdown may be drawn out longer as a result because of that plus the fact that the debt limit issue is coming up in just a couple of weeks," said Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R).

Goodlatte said he has requested for the Sergeant at Arms in the House to hold his paycheck until the government shutdown ends.
