AUGUSTA COUNTY -- County supervisors said they may need to increase property taxes to balance their budget and help schools. One supervisor said a 5-cent tax increase may be necessary to do this.

On Thursday night, they wanted to hear what people who live in the county think about it.

Augusta County School Board members have requested an additional $2.5 million. That funding would go to update school computers and give better benefits to employees.

If you'd like to voice your opinion on the budget, there are two meetings you can attend. One is Thursday night at 7 p.m. in the Stuarts Draft Elementary School cafeteria. The next one is April 15th at the Augusta County Government Center.
